Notebooks 13.2 for iPhone & iPad

This release focuses on window management, editing reliability, and overall polish.

The update is available on the App Store. If you have any questions or feedback, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

The Changes in Detail

Improved Window and Document Handling on iPadOS

  • You can now open the current document in a new window directly from the document title menu.
  • When working with multiple windows, fullscreen behavior is more predictable (toggling in one window leaves all others untouched).
  • When editing the same document in multiple windows, each window now reliably remembers and restores its own scroll position. Editing in one document no longer changes the scroll position in other windows.

Formatted Documents and Markdown

  • In formatted documents, the Move Line Up/Down commands work as expected again without triggering unnecessary paste prompts.
  • Toggling tasks in combined Markdown documents is now more reliable, especially if the Markdown text contains “–>”.
  • In formatted documents, the top and left margins have been optimized once more.

Books and Smart Books

  • Smart Books more reliably update content and visibility when settings change.
  • Book lists are saved more reliably, especially after switching locations, ensuring that Share… from other apps always uses the correct structure.

Import and Sharing

  • Improved handling when opening documents from other apps.
  • Various refinements to sharing and document import workflows.

Additional Improvements

  • Numerous interface refinements and under-the-hood changes to improve reliability and consistency throughout the app.
